Steep - Sloped Roof System

Steep-slope roof systems typically are composed of individual pieces or components installed in shingle fashion installed on slopes 2/12 or higher pitch.

Asphaltic Shingle

Asphaltic shingles are composed of: a base material, either organic felt or glass-fiber mat, that provides support for the weather-resistant components and gives a shingle strength; asphaltic and fillers; and surfacing material, generally in the form of mineral granules, that provides protection from impact and UV degradation and improves fire resistance. They are manufactured in the widest variety of colors, shapes and textures to meet virtually any architectural design effectively and affordably.Once installed, a Shingle Roofing System requires virtually no regularly scheduled maintenance as is required with other roofing systems. Some types of shingles are designed to be fire and wind resistant. Depending on the composition, a Shingle Roof System is manufactured to meet certain flammability standards and has been tested under extreme wind conditions.

Benefits of Shingle Roofing System
- Low Maintenance
- Fire and Wind Resistant

Different types of Asphaltic Shingles:

- Dimensional Shingle

- 3 - Tab Shingle

Clay Tile and Concrete Tile

Clay tile is produced by baking molded clay into tile. The density of the clay is determined by the length of time and temperature at which it is heated. Tiles may be glazed and also may have surface texture treatments applied. As a result, there are a wide variety of tile profiles, styles, finishes and colors available.

Concrete tiles are made of portland cement, sand and water in varying proportions. The material is mixed and extruded on molds under high pressure. The exposed surface of a tile may be finished with cementitious material colored with synthetic oxide additives. The tiles are cured to reach the required strength. They can withstand any climate, including our merciless summer heat. The durability of roofing tiles makes them a prime roofing alternative for centuries.

Both clay and concrete tiles are extremely durable, lasting anywhere from 50 to 100 years given building design and installation. They are waterproof and do not succumb to the elements such as fire, wind or even pest damage. A Tile Roofing System consists of tiles made from naturally reoccurring materials. No chemical preservatives are used in manufacturing and they are 100% recyclable to make new tiles. There isn’t a better way to be kind to the environment when choosing a roofing system.

Metal Roof System

Sheet metal used in roofing is made of galvanized steel, stainless steel, monel metal, terne metal, copper, lead, zinc, aluminium, or a combination of metal alloys. Any metal sheet heavier than 30 gauge is called sheet metal.

You can expect a metal roof to last 25 to 30 years. Although some types can rust, you can restore them with a special paint that contains a plastic fiber which covers the metal and helps prevent furthur deterioation. Metal panels are rigd and highly resistant to wind uplift. But if even a corner works loose, a strong wind can blow the entire panel off.

Metal panels usually have a low fire rating becuase they are such good conductors of heat. The only way to mitigate this is to surround the panels with fireproofing material. And unless there's insultation between the roof and building interior, metal panelroof are very noisy during rain or hailstorms.

Sheet metal roofing and siding are generally made from cold rolled metals. Sheet metals are either colled - rolled or hot - rolled. Several properties of the sheet metal depend upon the metals ingot's temperautre during rolling. Cold - rolled sheet metal has a lower carbon content. While it's more meallable than hot-rolled sheet metal,     cold - rolled sheet metal has the disadvantage of being weaker.
